I'm officially done being swamped with papers and school work for a little bit and I don't have class tomorrow so I decided to do some blogging. I'm going to write about Tim's and my story! AH! I'm so excited! It's a real good one.
Sometime in the beginning of fall semester I was standing at the name tag table at church, looking for my tag when I looked up and saw this attractive tall man. I hadn't seen him before and it was just a couple weeks into the semester (quite possibly the first week of school) so I introduced myself and learned his name was Tim. I thought he was cute. He was wearing a paisley tie. I love paisley.
Later with my roommates his name came up (or I mentioned it) and they all chimed in that they wanted to set him up with another roommate. She's tall. He's tall. She hadn't dated anyone for a long time so as a nice friend I backed off completely and didn't entertain the thought of him. The only time we talked again was once I complimented him on his purple paisley tie at church when he was sitting behind me.
October 19th our ward had a huge ward activity for FHE at some lodge up in the mountains of Spanish Fork (?). It was really fun. Angela and I had gotten thoroughly lost trying to get there-it was hilarious. When we got there I went to get food and then sat down. A couple of my guy friends from the ward (Clark and Don) were there and we all got to talking. They asked how my love life was. I said how nothing was really happening. No crushes, but I was happy and going on dates now and again. I wasn't worried about it though because my life was busy and full and I was happy. I knew the Lord would hook me up when it was the right time. Then someone came over and invited them to go play volleyball. I remember thinking...Don doesn't play volleyball. Neither of them went and played (if i remember that right) but I did.
So I went to play volleyball and Tim was there. We were on the same team and he was pretty good. I just remember me telling him good job and cheering for him like I do for my teammates. In my head he was still trying to get with Jerri, because that's what my roommates wanted (although Jerri was kind of indifferent about it lol). That was the beginning.
I later found out that it was Tim who had invited the guys to play volleyball (not me). He was with a group of people, Jerri included, and they were all going to go play in the gym and Jerri mentioned that I would come play volleyball if we started a game and Tim had wanted to talk to me. So he got me over there, but didn't really talk to me!
October 22, 2009
The BYU 9th Stake put on this Halloween activity thing with carving pumpkins, food, and a dance. I went with my girls and Tim and his friend Jon (who had previously dated my roommate so he was my friend too) were in our group of people dancing. Thankfully I had no idea that Tim had kind of liked me at this point because I was able to be myself and dance crazy like I do. I'm still thinking at this time that that we're all trying to set Tim and Jerri up.
At the dance I started talking to him a little because I didn't know anything about him. I found out that he served his mission in Beliz and Honduras-Spanish! Ah I was excited. I love Spanish speakers and so I talked to him a little bit, and then we all went home.
Later that night when I was home Angela and I were about to start watching Sailor Moon (a youth favorite) when I got this phone call. The show was just about to start but I went and answered it. It was Tim. It was TIM! YAY! He called to ask me out for the next night! When I told Ange she laughed because we thought he was going to ask Jerri out-sorry Jerr.
Stay tuned for October 23...our first date! :-)
