I've always loved a good fun run to DI to get crazy clothes for costumes etc...but it seems like everyone is thrifting these days and making the cutest, cheapest outfits out there. I've decided to join the throng. If I need something I'm going to try and get it thifted before I go out and buy it-an experiment I'm going to do for the whole summer (/would be a good habit for life in general).
Yesterday Tim and I went to DI and I tried looking around for some goods. I didn't come back with any clothes but we did get some tall cups and some great pictures frames. Each frame was $1.50, and the least of the frames would have easily been at least $8 at Ross etc... So yeah...I'm trying to be crafty, but now I'm also going to try and be thrifty too. I mean really...why spend a lot of money when you can get something you need WAY cheaper by thrifting it. I'm sold. Also...I like the word thrifting (not that you could tell by how many times I used it), it's just so much more fun than saying hand-me-downs or second-hand.
Anyone have any favorite things that they've thrifted?
Any amazing places to go around Provo area other than the great DI?
You go Megs! I am not a thrifter. I don't buy super luxurious stuff, but to me thrifting takes too much time and energy that I just don't have right now.
ReplyDeleteCareful! Thrifting can be addictive! (and so so fun) on thing I figured out while I lived in Utah was that not all DI's are created equal. ;) The one in Provo tends to be super picked over. I usually found good stuff at the American Fork DI and have always wanted to check out the one in Park City.
