Valentine's Day

I first have to do a shout out to my sister Sian.  Valentine's Day is her birthday and in our family her birthday was always much more important than Valentine's Day.  So although they share the same date, I'd take having my sister over flowers or chocolates any day (...well most days) ;-). So.....

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
SIAN
!!!

Now onto the great Valentine's day that we had. Tim decided to take charge this Valentine's day and I didn't have to do anything. It was pretty awesome and super sweet of him. To start off the day he told me that I had a surprise coming between 11 am and 1. Well it sure was a surprise.  These four gents below knocked on the door with a rose (and they were supposed to have given me a box of chocolates then too but they forgot it in the car and brought it back afterward) and started serenading me.  They sang two songs: Heart of my Heart and Till I'm 64.

It was absolutely amazing, hilarious, sweet, and funny. Really...kind of perfect; funny entertainment, flowers, and chocolates. Perfect Valentine's Day right there. But the day just continued to get better and better.

Since Tim got me such a cool gift I decided that I really did need to do something for him for Valentine's Day.  So....I got him a car!

Ok...so really we were in the market for a car already, it just turns out we got one on Valentine's Day...and it's kind of a gift from Tim as well since he will be providing the moolah for it ;-) We had been researching cars for a while but when Tim got a new job offer in the beginning of the week we decided we needed to get him a new car before his new job started (not to mention we were hoping to get a lower interest rate from his bank since he was an employee but that turned out to be only for current employees who work there-bummer, but still a good rate). Anyway though-Tim got a 2011 Toyota Camry from a wonderful dealership, Smith Family Motors-and it was a great deal. So that was pretty exciting too.

We finished off the day by going to a restaurant we'd never been to before. We went to El MexSal-a Mexican and Salvadoranian restaurant and it was SO good! I remember when I was in school one of my good friends Justin would rave about this place but I had never gone until now.  Wow, we were missing out.  Tim served part of his mission in El Salvador and I've been to Mexico a few times so it was such a fun way to get to experience the mix of two great cultures.  The food was absolutely amazing and we got to speak a little espanol-which we always love to do.

Tim and I have this mutual love of trying out new, slightly ghetto/divey restaurants to see if we can find diamonds in the rough/have fun experiences.  This place was so much a diamond that instead of going to a new restaurant every V-Day as a tradition, we might just go there every year.

Tim's Yummy Meal. Can't remember what it was called but it was essentially a huge tortilla covered in cheese and beans with a brisket type beef on top, covered by a huge salad with avocado and tomato.
My yummy carne asada tacos with huge avocado and yummy steak.

So full and so happy.

Full after about a 5th of his meal.
So yummy and filling. Made for some great left overs too.

All in all-probably the best Valentine's Day I have ever had.  I guess it just seems like now that we've got Mary life just is sweeter and sweeter and this day was no exception.
