Are you a Hermione or a Pansy Parkinson?

I just came across a really interesting quote that I saw on pinterest.
Yep...that very addicting website that has so many quotes and recipes, we all just re-pin them hoping one day to cook that meal, without ever checking to see if the recipe is on the site.
The same goes for the quotes.
How do we know those quotes are valid? Did so and so really say that?

I decided to google the below quote (google, which is ALWAYS reliable...like Wikipedia) to check and see if J.K. Rowling really did say this or not.

Because let's be honest, apart from Harry Potter, the only thing I've heard J.K. Rowling saying was that Dumbledore was gay...and I just choose to ignore that and take my own interpretation of the books for myself. Onto the quote.

"is 'fat' really the worst thing a human being can be? Is 'fat' worse than 'vindictive', 'jealous', 'shallow', 'vain', 'boring' or 'cruel'? Not to me;"

Not to me either! This quote made me think...good point.  Our world's image of beautiful kind of sucks, it's defined on whether or not you're skinny, but I think this quote above is really true.  She continued to say after this...

"but then, you might retort, what do I know about the pressure to be skinny? I'm not in the business of being judged on my looks, what with being a writer and earning my living by using my brain..."

Basically, she goes on this rant...shpeal of wisdom, about how our world is too focused on being skinny and not on what really matters.  I know what she's saying is true.  I believe it, and I've heard it a hundred times.  But I think we girls are always a little too hard on ourselves.  We compare ourselves to those around us; to models, to everyone and everything.  What we really need is to love ourselves and focus on the good things.  I think doing that will lead us to happiness regardless of what the number on the scale says.  Now, I'm all for being healthy.  Physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually...but worrying or obsessing about your body won't bring happiness.

Read the article...it makes you realize your self worth.
Thanks J.K.-I'm a Hermione and not a Pansy
