BOO DMV!

I say Boo to the DMV.  BOO!!!! Ug.  I hate the DMV.  I went there today to try and get a Utah license with my new married name.  I know.  I've been married for over a year now and I don't have any I.D. to show my new name off with.  And yes...it is my new name.  It was legally changed-I have the social security card to prove it!   However, no picture ID.

So I went there today with my manilla folder named "Important Docs" with basically an identify thefts dream inside.  Only to wait for 20 minutes in line, have a woman rifle through my identification and tell me that I'm missing something.  What?! I wasn't missing anything the last time I went there (which was a few months ago to see if I could get a state ID, not a driver's license, with my new married name since I didn't want to get a Utah license.  Turns out it's illegal to have two different current ID's with different names...again...identity theft.  Blah! Am I really going to steal my own identity? I think I don't need to..anyway).  They just  sent me through the line with my number, called my number, and then rejected me.

I wasn't prepared for rejection today.  So...not only did I add an extra 10 minutes to my trip to the DMV because of construction and me mistakenly being in a turn only lane (I swear it used to go straight as well) which made me go onto the freeway, but I had to wait in line for 20 minutes, and then just come back.

Thankfully, I have a wonderful husband that lets me vent to him when I'm angry.

Thankfully, today is birthday day at my office and I can go drown my sorrows in some deliscious Costco chocolate cake.

Thankfully, there are only a few times in life when you  need to go to the DMV.  Unless you're me right now, but oh well.

Chocolate cake.

OH! and my Dad called and we're going to Tucano's tonight.  I am going to revel in these calories and let them assuage my emotionally trying day.

  1. I can so relate to this. My DMV wouldn't even let me use my passport as proof of marraige! So crazy! =)
