Can-Can can you do the Can-Can?

Last night for FHE Tim and I combined with his cousin Jeff and his wife Diana and cute baby Austin.  This past summer Diana and Jeff have worked really hard on the garden in our backyard and it has paid off! Seriously, the garden is AmaaaAAAZING! Diana has got green hands instead of just green thumbs and has been generous enough to share their homegrown wealth with Tim and I.

For last night's FHE Tim gave a great lesson on different ways to receive revelation.  It was based on a conference talk by Elder Bednar.  It was a really good lesson, especially in preparation for General Conference.  The activity was the guys hanging out and talking in the living room while Diana and I got our canning on.

We are so blessed to be living in our house and to have such wonderful resources around us. We have the amazing garden that has so many different kinds of fruits and veggies due to Diana's awesome know-how.  We also have a plum tree, apricot tree, peach tree (still just a baby), and an awesome apple tree. The apples, which we believe are Paradise apples, are SO YUMMY!!!  Kind of like a Fugi apple but with a thinner skin and a little sweeter.

The canning process has been a little spread out so far.  Jeff, Diana, Austin and Kristen picked the apples one day, I cored/pelled/sliced them on Saturday morning, that afternoon Dianna made them into apple sauce and then froze them until we could can.  Thanks to the generosity of my great mother-in-law Carol, who lent us all of her canning equipment, we were able to finish the process last night.  Let me tell you-the applesauce is SO good! Diana didn't even have to add sugar because the apples were so sweet.  I am so excited about it-a healthy, home grown snack and there's no added sugar! It was such a fun experience and I'm really excited to reap its rewards in the future.

Here are some of the great pics of us being super domestic!

The fruit of our labors.

This applesauce was SOOO Yummy! It was way healthy too.  The apples were so sweet that we didn't have to add any sugar to the recipe.
