Miracle Baby Bridger (PLEASE READ)

I think that Christmas time is such a great time because it brings everyone closer together.
People smile more.

One of the main things I think about at Christmas time is obviously the story of our Saviors birth.  This year I have a slightly new perspective on it though.  I've previously thought of the hard journey Mary and Joseph had to make.  Especially with Mary being pregnant.  Or I've thought of how sad it was that there was no room anywhere for them to go.

This year I have more thought of the miracle of our Savior's birth.
That he was able to be born, and in such horrible conditions
(environmentally, physically, emotionally, and politically).

This year I've had a few friends who were/are pregnant.
All four of these amazing women have had different experiences.
One baby girl was born beautiful and healthy.
One baby boy's journey was turned Heavenward just a few short weeks
before his due date.
One baby girl is going strong and due in a couple of months.
And one baby boy fought against all odds to be here on earth.

Through all of my friends' experiences I have learned something that I took for granted before, and I have had my faith and testimony strengthened.
I have come to realize, that the power of life is in the Lord's hands.
And that every baby is a miracle.
I especially want to talk about this last baby boy and his miracle.

The Miracle

One of my best friends and old roommates and her husband have gone through a really hard trial at  an early stage of their lives. Alicia is my first best friend to get pregnant. At an early stage in my friend's pregnancy she had a uteral hermoragge that sent her to the hospital-this was at about 10 weeks.
From that point on the doctors basically told her that there was no hope that her baby would live and to get ready for a miscarriage because it would be coming soon.

A few weeks went by and nothing happened.

She was around 16 weeks and her baby was still with her, growing strong.
They still said, don't get your hopes up.  You will lose this baby.  She got to the point where a natural miscarriage wouldn't be possible.
A nurse asked her if she would like to the abort her baby.
My friend (Oh how I love this girl!) responded "Does my baby have a heart beat?!" She told the nurse to spread the word to have no-one ask her that again or she would be LIVID.
Farther and farther into her pregnancy and the doctor's couldn't believe how her baby was still alive.
At this point they said that she would either give birth to a still born or that her baby would only live for a couple of hours.

After 30 weeks everyone was amazed!
Her baby boy was getting big enough that they would be able to do procedures to help him develop.  His lungs were under-developed and one of his kidney's was covered in cysts.(it turns out he actually only has 1 kidney).  He wasn't getting enough amniotic fluid, but he kept on kicking.  In fact, he got flying colors when they tested his mobility
(I don't know all that goes along with that-but he rocked it!).

Even then though...after seeing the miracle of this little boy,
how he was fighting SO hard.
The doctors gave him very low odds of living long after he was born, if at all.

Well....Here is my friend's little miracle who has beat the odds!
BABY BRIDGER!

The Little Miracle

He was born on November 8th, 2011. 5.2 lbs 17in.

Alicia and Andre have set up an account where we can all help Bridger while he's in hospital. This is definitely the season to be giving.  And I promise you that this new family are some of the most deserving and best people you could ever give to.  I've put their message below. If you're not in a position to donate anything, please keep them in your prayers.

Love,  Aunty Megs

If you would like to donate to Bridger you will be helping contribute to his stay at the NICU Phoenix Childrens Hospital (they say anywhere from 4 - 9 months is how long we could be here), blood transfusions, dialysis, surgeries, and eventually in the next 2 years his kidney transplant. The account has been set up at CHASE BANK under Bridger Baer or Andrew Baer account number is: 2999200534. Your support means the world to us, and more importantly your prayers mean the world to us. God hears you... Thank you a million times over- Andrew and Alicia
