The doorbell rang and there was a surprise package...full of tender mercies. My two best friends from my internship to the Dominican Republic, Missy and Sutton, both live on the east coast now. They got together one weekend and were sooo sweet to send my little miss some adorable cardigans. Seriously, I think she is going to get so much wear out of these two. This was such a wonderful surprise and at such a great time; I really needed this little pick me up (being a new mom is hard sometimes). Thank you girls soo much! Mary loves her east coast tias and I do too. I sure miss those girls.
The DR was kind of like my mission. I had planned on serving a mission after graduating and I did the internship the summer before my senior year at the Y. I met Tim in the fall of that year. It was all such perfect timing but because I didn't serve a mission the DR has definitely become a mission experience for me. Missy and Sutton...those two are like my mission companions. I am so grateful for them and their friendship and couldn't imagine any better companions; they are two incredible women.
Ah! Que sorpresa! This completely brightened my day!
