Independence Day and Stadium of Fire

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Independence Day was so fun this year and very eventful.  We got up at about 5 am to go see the hot air balloons but due to the overcast weather they didn't fly this year. So instead we went to Kneaders for breakfast with the Mills and then headed over to the parade and parked out and got a good spot.  I haven't seen this parade before and man it was awesome.  It was tons of fun getting to be with Tim for the day, hanging out with family, and just celebrating together.

Mary trying to see everything going on as we walked around Provo.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Stadium of Fire

Then Tim and I got to go on our first date without Mary since she was born.  We went to the Stadium of Fire and it was AMAZING!!!

AMAZING!!!!!

There were three skydivers who landed on the field.  It was super cool.  One of the guys held an American Flag as he steered toward the ground. They steered with these like jet-powered looking shoes. It was really cool.

CIRQUE DE SOLE

This was probably the most underwhelming part of the night. We thought it would be amazing, and it was kind of cool, but the group only performed on the stage and it was kind of hard to see.  They did do some amazing things with their bodies, but it wasn't as big of an act as we thought it was.  The coolest parts were when they had 4 people standing on top of each other head to foot. The other really cool part was they used their bodies like a trapeze and launched people from it (that's the best way I can describe it without prattling on).

A huge dance routine with hundreds of little girls.

BThere was a band that did a preshow, and then Carly Rae Jepson was the opening act for .....KELLY CCLARKSON!!!! It was absolutely amazing! I love her and her music, and it was such a great concert and sooo fun! Not too mention (that is a funny saying since you say it right before you mention something) Tim's and my first date alone since Mary joined our family in November. And then at the end of the concert there was an awesome firework show.  Growing up in a small town means that I was used to small town fireworks. These fireworks were LEGIT! and lasted FOREVER....it was great! :-D

Prepare yourself for photo overload-I have no desire to cut down on these ones...enjoy my joy people.
(Also I don't know what's up with those image video things....but I'm leaving them because otherwise I'll never publish this post.)

And then we saw this car in front of us on the way home.  The license plate describes how perfectly the night was....It seemed like it was just for me.  :-)
