Month 9

Mary is 9 months TODAY!

Just some recent highlights this last month.

Mary kind of tried clapping yesterday for the first time. She waves, but not on cue. She will not perform; everything has to be her own idea. She blows tons of bubbles.  She can blow raspberries with just her bottom lip moving (we have all tried it and none of us can do it like her). This last week she has officially started crawling and now won't stop. When she eats she likes to play a little more with her food and will spit it back at me sometimes (I'm not a fan of that).

A couple weeks ago I took Mary to the doctor because she had a really bad cough and runny/stuffy nose. She just had a little virus going around but when they weighed her she weighed 15 lbs 2 oz. She had gained one pound in about two weeks of being on soy formula. It was incredible.  She still is our cute, little dainty girl, but she seems to be healthier and happier.

9 Month Stats:
Height: 28.25 inches
Weight: 15 lbs 10 oz

Mary now:

  • Crawls everywhere and quickly. She started a couple this last week. As soon as she figured it out she was off.
  • She recognizes people. Whenever I face time with my parents she does a big smile to see Nanny and Granddad. Same if we visit Meema and Grandpa she gives them big smiles. Also Livi and Sophie get smiles out of her really quickly.
  • She is still incredibly observant and serious at first. Once she has taken in her fill of looking around then she lightens up and smiles more.
  • She still loves baby food, fruits and vegies and rice cereal.  I tried giving her some meat baby food the other day. She made such a disgusted face with the first spoon that I had to have Tim see it. On the second spoon she was so grossed out that she started gagging until she threw up everything she had just eaten.
  • She also has her first tooth-discovered by her aunt Suzanne at church on Aug. 18th.
  • She is also getting a little bit more hair everywhere.
  • Her eyes are still blue blue.
