I love changing hairstyles. I think dying your hair, cutting it etc...is such a fun way to vamp/change your wardrobe. With two older sisters like Emma and Sian (Emma who died her hair permanent purple one Halloween, and Sian who went to the Paul Mitchell Beauty School) I ended up being a guinea pig of sorts and at an early age would experiment with my hairstyles.
After years of dying my hair I decided that I wanted to grow my hair out and donate it to Locks for Love. I've been blessed with really healthy, thick hair: what easier way to give back then to just grow my hair out? So...for three years I grew my hair. No dying or drastic cuts. I re-virginized my hair and only trimmed it to try and make it healthier. Well this February I was ready. I was finally sick of my hair-I really, really wanted to chop it all off. And so I did.
Here are just a few before pictures, and a couple afters. I was able to donate 12". Silly me though...I still have the hair in a ziplock bag in my bedroom. I could have given a couple more inches in that time, but oh well. I now need to just send it in and by bloggin about it, I now have more accountability to do so in a more timely manner.
Megs, it wasn't Halloween, I just died my hair purple, and blue, and red.... And at 31, that side of me still exists a little. I was shopping online the other day and came across some bright dyes and I had to check myself and not buy it!
ReplyDeleteNow go and donate you hair! Oh, and as Betty would say, before you cut your hair it was Rapunzel long.
I love these pictures!
