Ode to HP

It's coming to an end.  I bet you're as sad as I am about it.
So much so that all you can do is

think about him,

dream about him,

and worry about him.

Harry Potter

The last movie is coming out this Friday, July 15th.  However, lucky for me, I work for a pretty awesome company who hosts client appreciation events when awesome movies come out, and
I get to go to the premier of Harry Potter 7 Part 2 on THURSDAY EVENING!!!

In preparation for this amazing event I have:
1. Reread HP 7 to brush up.
2. Watching all of the movies the week before hand

I love Harry Potter so much.  In 6th grade Mrs. Denbrooke starting reading us the first book.  I was 11 or 12 years old, the same age as Harry.  I grew up with him, Ron, and Hermione.  I remember first listening to JK Rowling's great tale read by my teacher.  No one knew how to pronounce all those old/possibly made up names. We pronounced Hagrid as HAgrid (long A sound). Hermione...ug! What a nightmare.  Some stupid girl in my class (ok...she's not stupid, she's actually smart, but this was stupid because it ruined Hermione's name for a while) said that Hermione was pronounced   Air-mee-O-na.  Seriously! ridiculous.

Disregarding those earlier fond and upsetting memories surrounding Harry Potter and the magical world, I am so excited and sad about this final movie.  It was sad enough when the book ended; the last of the marvelous story.  But now the movie is coming out as well.  The final chapter about to be closed.

This is my shout out to Harry Potter.  I've loved every step of the way and have invested my mind, emotions, and so so so so much time in you. I can't wait to see this next movie!
I AM SO EXCITED!!!
It's going to be epic for sure.  And although the story will be done, I know that I'll be able to relive it through the books and movies, and then with my children when they're in high school.
...because seriously...no eleven year old should read up to book 7,
and no child of mine will be able to wait a year at a time to read each book as they grow with the characters

  4. Have fun Megs! I haven't seen part one yet. I didn't want to wait a year for part two. I am just going to wait until the whole series comes out on Blu-ray and do a marathon at home.
