Month Five

5 Months

Although I definitely miss the newborn days where you just sleep and snuggle, being a mom to this little girl just gets better and better. She is seriously so sweet and good tempered. I am loving her little personality-there's a little bit of sass to this girl, and she's got a good sense of humor. I'm still trying to figure out setting a schedule with her. I have gotten lots better at multitasking and getting things done around the house or going on errands etc...We are still working on getting good sleep habits down though. Anyway...I don't have any physical stats...just bigger. This girl keeps growing and growing...although I think she's still probably on the small side for her age, she seems SO advanced to me (could be that I didn't read any child development books...or just because I'm biased, but this girl is kind of a genius).

Mary at 5 months is:
  • Really good at rolling over from tummy to back, not quite back to tummy yet
  • HAS to be strapped into her swing because of how well she arches her back and wiggles around when she is lying on her back she'll kick her legs and scooch backwards
  • Sleeping in her bassinet instead of in her swing at night (she was basically getting too long for it)
  • Loves grabbing her feet and sucking on her toes (especially if her binky is out of reach)
  • Can grab her binky and put it into her mouth if she feels or sees it. It doesn't have to be right in front of her.
  • Completely fits into 3 month clothing and some 3-6 month
  • Still spits up a lot, but not every day multiple times like she used to. More like every other day a few times.
  • Blows great bubbles
  • Loves sticking out her tongue
  • Laughs a lot more, but you have to earn it
  • Almost sitting up by herself. She can sit up for about three seconds before she falls backwards or sideways.
  • Getting more blonde hair all over her head.
  • Has cute little thigh fat rolls.
